Registration and Activation
I am not receiving a registration mail?
It seems yahoo, aol and possibly other ISPs are blocking mails because they think they are spam. I cant help this. This is your ISPs fault. They are blocking email you should receive. Either find them in the spam directory or add 'noreply@reijkersz.nl' to the greenlist/whitelist or use another email provider like gmail. Do not mail me for manual activation. You need a working email adres to work with the ladders.
Ladder FAQ
What is a ladder?
A ladder is a system where players are ordered by their ranking. Their ranking is a measure of their skill. Theoretically the best player should be in the top of the ladder. You can challenge players for a play by email game(PBEM) and report the result. Based on the result new rankings will then be calculated to reflect the level of both players. Basicly it is a competition system.

Why two different ladders?
The official ladder is meant for serious competitive play and there you always have to use the same scenario, while the casual ladder is meant to find opponents for any scenario and in a more casual setting.

Which settings to use for a PBEM game?
Always use Anti PBEM Cheat option, FOW and passwords. Combination of Anti PBEM Cheat and passwords will make it impossible for your opponent to cheat without getting reported.

What to do when the game reports that my opponent cheats?
It depends on you. It could be an accident, but you have the right to report a cheat and thereby finish the game. My advice is to be moderatly lenient concerning cheats. I do advice to pick opponents who have a low cheat ratio compared to the number of games they have played. Remember that it is impossible to distinguish if the reported cheater was cheating or the player who is reporting the cheat.

What to do when my opponent reports a wrong score?
You should counter report what the real score was. Hopefully your opponent will confirm it. If not you have a dispute. I do advice to pick opponents who have a low disputed games ratio compared to the number of games they have played. Remember that it is impossible to distinguish who is right and wrong if a dispute has occured.

Will my emailadres be public?
Only after you accept somebodies challenge or your challenge gets accepted are email adresses exchanged between the two opponents.

How can i temporarily not receive any challenges?
Select your self, scroll down and put your status to holiday. You are automaticly put on holiday if you do not respond to any challenge within 72 hours.

Why can i not retract a challenge?
Because a challenge is very formal and the other player has already been notified.

Why can i make max 3 challenges?
Because we want to avoid that players can spam the whole list.

What to do when your opponent is no longer sending turns back?
Wait 3 days and then report a score in your favour. Personnally i would go for the full 500 points difference between the scores. But if you feel you could not have won by that much you may report less. If your report is counterreported and no turns keep forthcomming i would report it as a cheat.

What to do when an opponent surrenders before round 10 has been reached in the official ladder?
You can add 1000 points in your favour to the latest score reported by the game and use that as the end score. However since the margin of defeat is used in the calculations it is not advisable to surrender. You should try to minimize your defeat as much as possible.

What formula is used to calculate the rankings?
Ratio = old rank loser / old rank winner
if Ratio>1 then Ratio = Ratio - ((Ratio-1)/2)
if Ratio<1 then Ratio = Ratio + ((1-Ratio)/2)
Score Difference is maximum half the ranking of the lowest ranked player
New rank winner = Old rank + (Score Diff * Ratio)
New rank loser= Old rank - (Score Diff * Ratio)
Minimum score = 10

In the official ladder the score difference can be anything between 0 and 500, in the casual ladder the score difference is always 500, unless a tie 0-0 was reported.

Scenario Bank
How should i upload a single .pt2 scenario that i made?
Just upload the file itself, it will not matter where the player saves it in order for him to be able to load and play it.

How should i upload multiple scenario's or a scenario with custom sound/graphics?
In that case you'll have to zip all files in 1 zip file and upload that zip file. Make sure that if someone unzips the zipfile in the "bin" Directory that it unpacks correctly. This will be tested before your scenario is approved. See Scenario Distribution Tutorial
